Ramona Abraham, MS, MLS (ASCP)

Ramona Abraham, MS, MLS (ASCP) is the Program Director for the 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville School of Medical Laboratory Science at 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville. She graduated from East Stroudsburg University with both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Biology and then completed her Medical Technology internship at 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville. She has worked in the laboratory science field for more than 30 years as a Laboratory Technologist, Technical Supervisor, Technical Specialist and Education Coordinator. She also has over 15 years of experience teaching Biological Sciences and Medical Laboratory Science at Florida State College at Jacksonville and University of North Florida. In her current role as program director, she manages all administrative aspects of operating a Medical Laboratory Science training program as well as teaches courses in Hematology, Urinalysis and Microscopy, Immunology and Serology, Management and Educational Methods, and Introduction to Medical Laboratory Science.

Brenda Carroll, BS, MLS (ASCP)BB

Brenda Carroll, BS, MLS (ASCP)BB is the Technical Job Specialist in the Transfusion Service section at 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville. She graduated from California University in California Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Biology and a B.S. in Medical Technology. She completed her clinical internship at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital in Johnstown Pennsylvania. She has over 35 years of experience working in the Transfusion Service/Blood Bank working as a Medical Technologist. During this time, she has been involved in many aspects of the Transfusion Service including the education of students, staff and residents.

Matthew Feldhammer, PhD, DABCC, FADLM

Matthew Feldhammer, PhD, DABCC, FADLM is an Associate Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and the Medical Director of clinical chemistry, toxicology and point of care testing at 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville. He also serves as the Laboratory Medical Director for 蹤獲扦 Wildlight and the 蹤獲扦 Mobile Stroke Unit. He received his doctorate in Biochemistry from McGill University and completed postdoctoral fellowship training in Clinical Chemistry at Emory University in Atlanta. Dr Feldhammer is a Diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Chemistry and a Fellow of the American Association of Clinical Chemistry. Dr. Feldhammer has been teaching pathology residents Clinical Chemistry and laboratory administration since 2015 and teaches various Clinical Chemistry sections at the 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville School of Medical Laboratory Science.

Amanda L. Goglia, MLS (ASCP)CM

Amanda L. Goglia, MLS (ASCP)CM is a member of the faculty at the 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville School of Medical Laboratory Science. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Montana State University and completed her Clinical Laboratory Sciences internship at Sacred Heart Medical Center School of Medical Technology in Spokane, WA in 2004. She has worked in the medical laboratory science field for many years as a Medical Technologist, Technical Supervisor, and is currently the Manager of Clinical Microbiology at 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville. She teaches the Clinical Microbiology course and works with students during their Clinical Microbiology Practicum.

Jonathan B. Hoyne, PhD, DABCC, FAACC, FACSc

Jonathan B. Hoyne, PhD, DABCC, FAACC, FACSc is an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and the Director of outpatient clinical chemistry, blood gas testing, protein immunology and mass spectrometry at Mayo Clinic Florida. He also is the Laboratory Director of the Targeted Biomarker Core Laboratory in Rochester, MN. He received his doctorate in Biomedical Research, Molecular Biology from Mayo Clinic Medical School in Rochester, Minnesota. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship training in Clinical Chemistry also at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Dr. Hoyne is a Diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Chemistry and a Fellow of the American for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (ADLM) as well as a Fellow of the Association of Clinical Scientists. Dr. Hoyne will be teaching various Clinical Chemistry sections at the 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville School of Medical Laboratory Science.

Ezra Mae Magaya, MLS, SH (ASCP), MLS (AMT), MHA

Ezra Mae Magaya, MLS, SH (ASCP), MLS (AMT), MHA, is a Clinical Laboratory Scientist III at 蹤獲扦 Clinical Laboratory. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Silliman University in Dumaguete City, Philippines and is a certified Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist in both the Philippines and the United States. She holds national certifications from AMT and ASCP as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, specializing in Hematology. Ezra has worked as both a generalist and a specialist in hematology/oncology and molecular diagnostics and has gained extensive experience across various clinical laboratory disciplines and laboratory settings including clinical, reference, and STAT laboratories. Her recent accomplishments include completing her Master in Healthcare Administration degree from the American College of Education and earning her certificate in Project Management from the University of Florida.

Yvette S. McCarter, PhD, D(ABMM)

Yvette S. McCarter, PhD, D(ABMM) is the Medical Director of the 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville School of Medical Laboratory Science. She received her doctorate in Clinical Microbiology from the Medical College of Virginia and completed postdoctoral fellowship training in Public Health and Medical Microbiology at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut. She has been at 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville since 2001 and is a Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville and the Director of Clinical Microbiology at 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville. She is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Medical Microbiology. She teaches the Clinical Microbiology course and works with students during their Clinical Microbiology Practicum.

Ann Nelson, MHA, BSBM, AS, MLT (ASCP), CHT (ACHI), ACHE

Ann Nelson, MHA, BSBM, AS, MLT (ASCP), CHT (ACHI), ACHE is a faculty member for the 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville School of Medical Laboratory Science. She is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Over the years, Ann earned the degrees of Associate of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology, Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Master of Health Care Administration. She is a Certified Histocompatibility Technologist through the American College of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics with more than 40 years of clinical laboratory experience in Blood Bank, Histocompatibility, Transplant Technology, Flow Cytometry and Molecular Pathology. Anns current role is the Supervisor for Molecular Pathology and Flow Cytometry at 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville.

Olga Goicoechea Perez, BS, MLS (ASCP)

Olga Goicoechea Perez, BS, MLS (ASCP) is a faculty member for the 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville School of Medical Laboratory Science. She graduated from the University of Havana, Cuba with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. After moving to The United States, she attended Ascension St. Vincents School of Medical Laboratory Science where she earned a certificate of completion in Medical Laboratory Science. She has over 10 years of clinical laboratory experience and has been part of the 蹤獲扦 organization since 2022. She lectures students on subjects in Clinical Chemistry and Clinical Hematology and teaches at the bench as a clinical preceptor in the Core Laboratory. She enjoys presenting fascinating patient results to her students as well as guiding them in identifying relevant patient cases for their final case study presentations.

Sonia Rivera, BS, MLS (ASCP)

Sonia Rivera, BS, MLS (ASCP) is a faculty member and course director at the 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville School of Medical Laboratory Science at 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville. Her specialties are Immunohematology, Blood Bank and Transfusion Medicine. She graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She obtained her post Bachelor certificate in Medical Technology at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico and has worked in the clinical laboratory field for over 30 years. She has worked at 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville since 2015, where she manages the Transfusion Service laboratory.

Ann L. Ruby, MS, SM (ASCP), MT

Ann L. Ruby, MS, SM (ASCP), MT is the Laboratory Education Coordinator at 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville North Laboratory. She coordinates education and training for new 蹤獲扦 North Laboratory employees. She also teaches Laboratory processes as needed for hospital staff. She received for Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology at Minot State University and Master of Science from University of North Florida. Her past experiences include managing the overall operations of the Clinical Microbiology section of the Laboratory. She did patient testing in all areas of Microbiology: Bacteriology, Mycology, Mycobacteriology, Molecular Microbiology, Virology and Parasitology. She also managed the Laboratory Information Services of the Lab and developed and implemented new computer systems for the System Laboratories.

Ariel Gomez Tablada, MS, MLS (ASCP)

Ariel Gomez Tablada, MS, MLS (ASCP) graduated from The University of Florida with her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. After choosing a career in Medical Technology, she began her internship at Ascension St. Vincents Riverside and became passionate about blood bank and transfusion medicine. Driven by her newly found passion, Ariel started at 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville as a blood bank medical technologist and was promoted to a blood bank technical specialist at 蹤獲扦 North. During this time, Ariel graduated with her Master of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science Leadership from The University of Cincinnati and recently obtained her Clinical Laboratory Supervisor License. Outside of work, Ariel enjoys spending time with family, her husband, and playing with their dog, Hachi. She frequently plays pickleball with friends and bakes in her spare time. Ariel looks forward to expanding her blood bank knowledge and pursuing a management role in a transfusion service department.

Crispina Marie Mimi Sy-Trias, PhD, MLS (ASCP)CMMCM, MLS (AMT)

Crispina Marie Mimi Sy-Trias, PhD, MLS (ASCP)CMMCM, MLS (AMT) is a Licensed Medical Technologist with 30 years of experience. She is certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) and Microbiologist (M), certified by the American Medical Technologist (AMT), and licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor by the State of Florida. She worked as a Medical Technology college professor for seven years at Silliman University in the Philippines. In 2003, she worked as a generalist Medical Technologist at Irwin County Hospital in Georgia for three years. She then moved to Jacksonville, Florida, and worked as a microbiologist at Baptist Health Jacksonville for fifteen years, along with four years as a Microbiology Technical Specialist. She worked as a PRN Med Tech at 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville laboratory from 2008 to 2011. In 2021, she rejoined 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville laboratory, working as Laboratory Education Coordinator for two years before transitioning to Core Laboratory Supervisor. Driven by her passion for public health and health education, she earned a masters in public health from Silliman University and a PhD in Public Health from Walden University.

Ryan Wilke, MS, MLS (ASCP)

Ryan Wilke, MS, MLS (ASCP), is a Laboratory Supervisor at the 蹤獲扦 North Laboratory. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Old Dominion University and started working at 蹤獲扦 Downtown Blood Bank in 2015. He became the Blood Bank Technical Specialist in 2020 at 蹤獲扦 North. In 2021 he graduated from Rush University with a Master of Science in Laboratory Management specializing in Blood Banking. Ryan completed his Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt and is currently enrolled in the 蹤獲扦 Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Program.

Kathryn L. Voorhees, MHA, MLS (ASCP)CM

Kathryn L. Voorhees, MHA, MLS (ASCP)CM, is a faculty member at the 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville School of Medical Laboratory Science. With over 20 years of experience in the field, she has held roles as a Medical Technologist, Technical Supervisor, and is currently the Manager of the Core Laboratory at 蹤獲扦 Jacksonville. She holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of North Florida and a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Her teaching focuses on the Hematology course and student practicums.
