ÂÜÀòÉç CARES presents 29th Annual Infectious Diseases and HIV/AIDS Conference of Northeast Florida Keeping the End of the HIV Epidemic in Sight:…

The University of Florida Center for HIV/AIDS Research, Education and Service (ÂÜÀòÉç CARES) is the only comprehensive pediatric and family-focused HIV and AIDS program in Northeast Florida and South Georgia. We provide primary, secondary and tertiary care for HIV-exposed and infected individuals and families. In addition to basic medical care, the center provides medical case management, pharmacy services, health education, nutrition and mental health counseling. Our doctors are trained in general pediatrics and internal medicine with additional specialization in infectious diseases and women’s health. We also have a full-time psychologist and part-time psychiatrist and gynecologist who provide specialty services.
Patients also have access to MedCenter, an automated kiosk to pick up prescriptions. A pharmacist appears on screen to ask and answer questions, as well as provide guidance through video conference. Our ÂÜÀòÉç CARES patients can receive care and conveniently pick up medications all at one location.
The National Committee for Quality Assurance has designated this practice a Patient-Centered Medical Home provider – a model for care where providers, patients, family members and caregivers partner together to achieve better outcomes.
