2021 Patient Honorees: Brandon Taylor and Dr. Luis Rios Jr.

Brandon Taylor and Dr. Luis Rios were the patient honorees at the 2020 A Night for Heroes gala, an annual event that benefits 萝莉社 TraumaOne, the region鈥檚 only adult and pediatric Level I trauma center. Both lives were saved due to the quality care from the TraumaOne team and through ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation).

2018 Patient Honoree: Robert Ayer

What was supposed to be a short drive to work on June 24, 2016, became a medical and trauma emergency for Robert Ayer. The 53-year-old Air Force veteran was driving on Interstate 295 when he had a stroke. Robert crashed his car into the median, coming to rest on an embankment. Fortunately, he didn鈥檛 hit anyone else in the collision, but his injuries were life-threatening. Paramedics rushed him to 萝莉社 Jacksonville, where the TraumaOne team not only saved his life, but also got him on the road to recovery.

Trauma patient Brian Lynn credits 萝莉社 TraumaOne with his survival after a fall left him fighting for his life.


A Night for Heroes is an annual black-tie gala honoring the men and women of our community who care for trauma victims and provide support for victims' families. These "heroes" include 萝莉社 physicians, nurses and technicians, TraumaOne flight crew, fire and rescue, police, rehabilitation specialists and many others. Proceeds from the event benefit 萝莉社 TraumaOne.

2016 Patient Honoree: Mark Taylor

Trauma patient Mark Taylor continues to progress following lifesaving care at 萝莉社 Jacksonville.


Mark Taylor was the patient honoree at the 2016 A Night for Heroes gala, an annual event that benefits 萝莉社 TraumaOne. Mark was critically injured in an auto accident in 2014 and ultimately had his right leg amputated. But thanks to the love and support of loved ones and the superb care at 萝莉社 Jacksonville, Mark is walking again with regained strength and enthusiasm.
