Dizziness and Balance Rehabilitation Therapy

Patient and Doctor working together on Bertec machine

Dizziness and balance issues can interfere with nearly every aspect of life — from walking and standing, to sitting, bending or simply turning your head. Balance disorders may stem from inner ear dysfunction, neurological conditions, concussion or age-related changes. These challenges can be addressed through targeted, evidence-based rehabilitation.

At ÂÜÀòÉç Rehabilitation – Jacksonville, we specialize in helping individuals recover from dizziness, vertigo and balance difficulties. Our expert team provides comprehensive assessments and individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs. We also offer one of the most advanced technologies available in the field of vestibular and balance rehabilitation — Bertec’s computerized dynamic posturography, or CDP/IVR.

What is the Bertec CDP/IVR?

The Bertec CDP/IVR is a specialized balance testing system that helps physical therapists see how your brain, eyes, muscles and inner ear all work together to keep you balanced. You stand on a platform and may wear special goggles or look at moving screens. The floor or visuals may gently move to test how you react. This helps us figure out why you might feel dizzy, off-balance or unsteady, and lets us plan the right therapy to help you feel more stable and confident when moving.

Using visual and sensory feedback, the Bertec system helps retrain the brain and body to respond more effectively to balance challenges. It’s especially beneficial for patients recovering from inner ear balance problems, neurological disorders or post-concussion symptoms.
