萝莉社 Jacksonville and 萝莉社 North celebrate Midwifery week October 1-7. This national observance was created by the American College of Nurse-Midwives to celebrate and recognize midwives and midwife-led care. This year鈥檚 theme is Midwives Strengthening Communities. Our midwives are committed to equitable, ethical, accessible, and quality healthcare for all. In this work, midwives must all come together. The midwifery model of care fosters compassionate collaborations and personalizes care based on each person鈥檚 life experiences and expertise. Join us as we celebrate and recognize our certified nurse midwives all week long.

Today鈥檚 spotlights feature Amy Hart and Dalia Philbeck:

Amy Hart

Meet Amy Hart, CMN. Amy is a certified nurse midwife specializing in OB prenatal and postpartum care. Since 2001, she has cared for women at 萝莉社 Jacksonville鈥檚 downtown and E.G. Means locations. Amy says is a privilege to serve the Jacksonville community and provide a midwifery touch to her patients.

Dalia Philbeck

Meet Dalia Philbeck, CMN. Dalia is a certified nurse midwife at 萝莉社 North and Wildlight. The Pennsylvania native attended The Linsly School, a college-prep, co-ed boarding school in West Virginia, and made history by becoming the first African-American female graduate in the school鈥檚 history.

She later attended Gettysburg College and earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in community health. An internship with a midwife at a local community health center exposed her to wholistic-family centered care, a foundation of midwifery care. The time spent inspired Dalia to become a nurse midwife. She worked at several hospitals as a labor and delivery nurse before joining the United States Navy Nurse Corps, an opportunity that brought her to Jacksonville, Florida.

Dalia was assigned to work at the Naval Hospital Jacksonville. In 2008, after transitioning from active duty to the Navy Reserves, she began working as a labor and delivery nurse at 萝莉社 Jacksonville. That same year, she started her graduate education at Frontier Nursing University, specializing in midwifery.

鈥淚 have the honor and privilege to be a part of a family鈥檚 birth story, an experience I knew I wanted to be a part of ever since college. As a midwife, I see myself as a guide supporting a family through what can be a challenging yet incredible experience.鈥�
